WHAT WATER

Every day, 800 million people around the world suffer from a lack of access to clean water. What Water is a registered Luxembourg non-profit association, and its mission is to improve access to water for needy populations, provide assistance and humanitarian aid, and raise awareness of water access issues by collecting information and disseminating it to the public, the media, and decision-makers.

In support of that mission, What Water builds bridges by connecting artists and engaged citizens of the world in Europe and Central Africa. It aims to provide clean water to eight million people by 2030 in support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

KRÄIZBIERG FOUNDATION

Inclusion, openness, respect, and empathy are the values that guide the Kräizbierg Foundation and inspire it to offer life plans to people with physical disabilities. The foundation provides homes, care, supervision, training, and more, all with the goal of helping people with disabilities to have more fulfilling lives and rewarding jobs.

Created in 1977, the Kräizbierg Foundation believes that with them, “everything is possible,” and they strive to be prepared to meet the constantly changing demands and needs of young people and adults with disabilities.

The Ateliers Kräizbierg are workshops that develop professional integration and aim to increase inclusion. They currently host over 100 people with mainly physical disabilities and offer them a working life as close as possible to working in the private sector. Through eight different workshops, the Ateliers Kräizbierg is able to offer individuals and companies a diverse range of products and services.

CARE

CARE works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice. CARE Luxembourg focuses on rural areas in Laos, giving assistance to mothers and children from marginalized ethnic minorities in the Phongsaly and Sekong provinces. In total, CARE is active in 85 villages and 24 health centers, reaching nearly 30,000 people, including around 500 pregnant women and 2,000 children under the age of two.

Change is possible, and it all starts with water. Without clean water, there can’t be quality health services, especially for newborns and pregnant women who are at high risk of waterborne diseases. Clean water reduces the risk of infections during and after delivery. Clean water also reduces the incidence of diseases that would otherwise be spread while washing, drinking, or eating food exposed to contaminated water. By helping to provide pregnant women and newborns with clean water, sanitation, nutrition, and quality health services, CARE Luxembourg pledges for a better future.

UNITY FOUNDATION

Unity Foundation believes that sustainable development is locally led. With the conviction that every human being is endowed with potential that can be revealed through adequate education and training, it works to unleash that potential in children, youth, and communities around the world. Unity Foundation partners up with local development organizations to ensure the sustainability of projects and guarantee that they meet the needs of local populations. One example:

Inshindo Foundation

The foundation’s Zambia-based partner Inshindo Foundation is actively working towards a 2026 goal of offering quality training to about 1,000 individuals who will then bring education to more than 8,000 children, increase and diversify agricultural practices, improve human and environmental health conditions, and strengthen the social cohesion of communities. The foundation provides additional focus on empowering girls and women, and it aims to enable communities to chart a path for their own progress.
