We use Tetra Pak to package our water. It’s not perfect, but it’s better. The carbon footprint of Tetra Pak is less than half that of plastic. And Tetra Pak is mostly made from paper, a renewable resource. Also, a plastic bottle requires up to 5 times more water just to manufacture it.

Thalus is a local start-up, based in Luxembourg, that specializes in spring water. We know pollutant-free water is important for health, and we also know that plastic stinks and so does carbon pollution.

Plastic is useful for lots of stuff. But it’s awful for the environment because it takes 450 years to degrade and it’s poisoning the oceans. Globally, a million plastic bottles are sold every minute.

SUPPLY CHAIN
In order to limit our transport needs and keep our carbon footprint as small as possible, we maintain a geographically compact logistics network.
PRODUCTION
The production runs with 100% green electricity, ensures sustainable production patterns, and has been tested and approved by the demanding International Food Standard (IFS).
TRANSPORTATION
We strive for efficient transportation. Thanks to the shape of our containers, the amount of water we can carry in a single truck is ten times more than if we used standard bottles. Furthermore, the light weight of our packaging helps to reduce fuel usage during transportation, minimizing our carbon footprint. Also, we try to avoid dispatching empty trucks on the road.
STORAGE
Our packaging allows for maximum space efficiency in storage facilities. This reduces electricity usage for the lighting and heating of warehouses.
SUPPLIER
Our water comes from an organic certified and regional German family business that is forward-looking and supports its local ecological agriculture. Most of the warehouse transport equipment has electric motors, and the company’s fleet consists exclusively of modern vehicles with the lowest emission values (Euro 6).
WATER
Our water is sustainably sourced, obtained next to the springs, and then boxed to ensure minimum energy use. The whole process is executed with care and respect for the environment.
PACKAGING
We valorize our raw materials and therefore use mostly bio-based plastic and FSC-certified packaging. Help us to be more sustainable by throwing the package in the right bin. #valorlux
RECYCLING
Our boxes are not single-use products, and we encourage people to reuse them and even refill them with tap water, which is pretty good in Luxembourg. After that: recycle. Have we mentioned recycle? Yes, RECYCLE. Get your Valorlux bag from your commune.

We are aware of our social responsibility as a Luxembourgish company. Therefore, we support local businesses, organizations, and clubs by organizing, participating in, and donating to regional events and endeavors.

We strive to fulfil our responsibility towards the community and environment by focusing on two UN Sustainable Development Goals: Responsible Consumption and Production (no. 12) and Climate Action (no. 13).
